Good at my thing. Human at the rest.

    HI, I'M MOLLY SHELESTAK

GOOD AT MY JOB.STUCK ON MYOWN THING.

I spent 20+ years in tech, at Siemens, Google, SoftBank, Heap and Contentsquare. I built three businesses on the side while working full-time.

I made the Ready to Sell Challenge for women who are great at their jobs and want something of their own, without giving up their evenings to get it.

    MY STORY

    THE LONG WAYAROUND.

    1. The early years

      The person people pulled in

From my first job, I was the one you called when a project was stuck and everyone was talking past each other. At Siemens I learned that customers rarely know what they want, so you have to help them find it. At Google I became the translator between engineers, product and the business.

    2. The big jobs

Great at my job. Still not mine.

I kept picking roles where hard problems mattered: Neustar, SoftBank, startups, then Heap, where I led the project that won back $5M in lost revenue. After Contentsquare bought Heap, I became a Senior Director. Everyone said I was great at my job. None of it felt like mine.

    3. The turning point

“You've been doing this for free your whole life.”

A friend said that to me, and it stopped me cold. She meant helping people figure out what to do next and then actually do it. I'd been giving away the most useful thing I had, because I didn't think it was worth anything.

    4. Since then

My own things, while working full-time

So I started making my own things the way I'd run projects at work: one small step at a time, with a plan and a date. I've built three businesses while holding a full-time job, including Outli.ne, Gift Shopper AI and Garage Insight.

    WHY THIS CHALLENGE

    YOU'RE GOOD ATWHAT YOU DO.

Knowing enough was never the hard part for me. It was everything else: what to make, who would buy it, the tech, the store. That's the part I help with.

Fourteen days, about 20 minutes a day, mostly from your phone. You bring what you know. Claude does the fiddly parts. I'm with you every day.
